What is a certified translation?
Certified translation of documents or deeds is used in liaison with authorities and institutions seated in the Slovak Republic or abroad. Certified translations are provided by court translators registered with the Ministry of Justice of the Slovak Republic. Such translators comply with all legal requirements. Apart from the fact that our translators have successfully passed a professional exam, we also maintain high-quality output through the detailed checking of final translations with a focus on content and formal compliance.

What is the difference between a certified translation and a notary certification?
A notary certifies the compliance of a document with the original. This is required when a copy of the original document is used by a court translator to provide a certified translation of the original document. A court translator certifies the accuracy of the actual translation against the original.
Can you certify my own translation?
(My document has already been translated, I just need to have it certified. Can you have it certified for me?)
This type of certification is provided by court translators (the list of court translators is available on the webpage of the Ministry of Justice of the Slovak Republic
What are CAT tools and CAT software?
CAT stands for Computer Aided Translation, i.e. translation supported by a computer. It is a sophisticated software tool, which creates a “memory” of past translations, and based thereupon suggests the translation to be used for the same or similar sentence. This leads to higher quality and speed of translation at significantly lower cost due to the repeated use of previous translations.
What’s your price?
Both our clients’ requirements and our services vary significantly. Therefore we cannot publish a standard pricelist. If you would like a quote for translations or interpreting at Lexika, please contact us and we will get back to you immediately.
How quickly can you deliver a translation?
We provide translations as quickly as possible. In usual language combinations and fields, we can translate your document very quickly. However, if you can plan your translation project in advance, we will help you to save costs.
Do you also provide interpreting?
Yes, in addition to translation we will be happy to provide you with interpreting services (consecutive, conference, accompanying). Of course, providing you with equipment required for interpreting is also part of our service.
